How to Play Dragon Tiger: Rules, Bets and Payouts

Dragon Tiger is one of the fastest card games at a live casino. Only two cards are dealt each round, one to Dragon and one to Tiger, and the higher card wins. A round takes about 25 seconds, and there are no decisions to make after you place your bet.

How a round works

  • Place your bet on Dragon, Tiger or Tie before the timer runs out.
  • The dealer deals one card face up to Dragon and one to Tiger.
  • The higher card wins. Aces are low (worth 1) and kings are high (worth 13).

Main bets and payouts

  • Dragon: wins if the Dragon card is higher. Usually pays 1 to 1.
  • Tiger: wins if the Tiger card is higher. Usually pays 1 to 1.
  • Tie: wins if both cards have the same value. Usually pays 8 to 1 or 11 to 1, depending on the table.

If the round is a tie and you bet on Dragon or Tiger, most tables return half of your stake. A suited tie (same value and same suit) often pays much more on the Tie or Suited Tie bet. Check the payout table at each table.

Side bets

Many tables offer optional side bets, for example on whether the Dragon or Tiger card will be odd or even, red or black, or big or small. They are separate from the main bet and always optional.
